No, not that you will notice. As with any computer program, Magic Backup requires some of your system's resources to perform its operations. However, Magic Backup is designed to do most of its work when you are not using your computer, so it is out of your way when you need to do important work. Magic Backup notices when you are using your Internet connection and CPU so it can reduce its use of those resources when you need them. When your computer is idle, Magic Backup will increase its use of your computer to perform backups.
In certain cases, you may want to tell Magic Backup to stop using your computer's resources for a period of time. These might include using your Internet telephone service (Vonage, Skype, etc.) or watching live videos over the Internet. You can easily suspend Magic Backup if you need to for a period of time by right-clicking on the Magic Backup star icon in your system tray and selecting "Suspend".

Suspend Magic Backup for awhile
Advanced users may also want to tell Magic Backup to do work only during a specified time window. This can be done by selecting the "Advanced Settings" option from the "Backup Settings" page on the Magic Backup configuration window.
